VACUUMING
Regularly vacuum to remove dirt and debris that can cause damage to the rug fibers. Avoid high-powered vacuums with beater bars as this can agitate rug fibers.
SPOT & STAIN REMOVAL
Attend to a spill immediately. Avoid scrubbing as this will force the stain deeper into the rug. Blot out excessive moisture with dry paper towels. A damp towel can be used to dilute any excess residue. Do not use excessive amounts of water. Use a ph-neutral liquid soap such as Woolite diluted in water. Make sure you rinse the towel frequently to get the soap residue out of the rug completely. Cold water is advised for real silk and warm water for wool. Wool can easily be damaged by bleaches and alkalis. Dry quickly to limit discoloration of the rug. Chemical cleaners should never be used for silk cleaning. A professional cleaner is always advised in the treatment of deep stains, red wine, oil spills, and urine. A professional cleaner is advised in handling bamboo silk.
FADING
We recommend rotating your rug biannually to even out any fading due to exposure to direct sunlight. All rugs will fade a little overtime.
SHEDDING
Rugs will naturally shed loose fibers especially over the first few months. This is normal and gently vacuuming often is recommended.
LOOSE FIBERS
Carefully clip loose fibers with scissors. Do not pull them by hand.
